The gain structure is intentionally non-linear. Through most of the dial, Conviction behaves like a dynamic overdrive with strong note definition and harmonic clarity. In the final part of the gain range, the circuit transitions into a collapsed, gated character. It edges into fuzz territory and offers raw textures without losing musicality. This makes the pedal equally suited for subtle edge-of-breakup tones, thick rhythm work, and expressive lead passages.

The tone control is voiced as a musical filter rather than a simple treble cut, allowing precise shaping without harshness. It remains usable across its entire sweep, maintaining balance whether paired with single coils or humbuckers.
